Disaster struck in Lebanon, specifically Beirut, on 4th August 2020. An unexpected, yet lethal, explosion occurred in Beirut, killing at least 200 people and injuring 5000 others. Reports also stated that the enormous explosion also led to over 300,000 people homeless. The explosion sent a mushroom cloud into the air and a blast-wave radiating through the city. This tragic event resulted in extreme trauma for many individuals all across the country. Those who survived the explosion struggle with uncertainty, loss and life-changing injuries. News reports revealed how the blast damaged at least 26 hospitals and clinics making it much harder for those suffering to get treatment. As a result of this, it is fundamental that other nations help by continuing to provide aid and other crucial resources to try and rebuild what was once a thriving city.
